Dalai Lama urged to back the Olympics
Beijing: China is urging Tibet's exiled spiritual leader the Dalai Lama to back the Olympics as part of conditions for continued talks.
The conditions came after two days of meetings last week in Beijing between Chinese officials and two envoys sent by the Dalai Lama from his exile base in India.
Istanbul: Two retired generals were jailed in connection with an alleged plot to topple Turkey's Islamic-rooted government, the highest-ranking ex-soldiers detained in the probe into the Ergenekon network.
