Cyclist's absence 'will be felt forever' say grieving family
THE family of a cyclist who died in a road crash in Kirkliston on Saturday have said his absence will be felt forever.
Greek-born Dr Kostas Tourlas, 37, died after colliding with a car while cycling along the B9080, near Kirkliston Sports Centre on Saturday.
It is understood his girlfriend witnessed the collision.
Today, his family who have flown over from Greece, paid tribute to Mr Tourlas who lived in South Fort Street, in Leith.
A family statement said: "Over the last couple of years, (Kostas] had found deep happiness and love with his partner, with whom he could share his passion for the outdoors and exploration of Scottish history and culture.
"His personality could fill a room and his absence will be felt forever."
A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with driving offences following the incident and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
