REGIONAL airline Flybe, whose bases include Edinburgh and Glasgow, is to join the frequent flyer scheme run by British Airways-owning International Airlines Group.
Flybe, whose other bases include Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester and Southampton, will joint the Avios reward points programme on 27 October.
The carrier, which serves 35 UK airports, said the Avios partnership would replace its existing Rewards4All frequent flyer programme, but that members could redeem their outstanding points within the next six months.
In June, Flybe made its first profit in four years on the back of boosted passenger numbers and reduced costs. It has reduced its number of bases from 13 to seven in the past year.
Saad Hammad, group chief executive, said the new frequent flyer scheme would be a “significant service enhancement” for customers, adding that there were two million flyers with billions of Avios points within 30 miles of a Flybe airport.
