Body of a woman found in search for pensioner missing from Scottish leisure park

A body has been found in the search for Anita Squires who was reported missing from a leisure park over the weekend.

The 74-year-old had been staying at Pine Trees Leisure Park, south of Tyndrum which is near Loch Lomond, when she went missing at about 6.30pm on Sunday.

A woman’s body in the area has since been discovered, and Ms Squires next of kin have been made aware.

Formal identification of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a woman was found around 9.55pm on Sunday, 1 November, 2020.

"The family of missing woman Anita Squires, who had been reported missing from the Tyndrum area, have been made aware of the discovery.

"Formal identification is yet to take place and a post mortem will carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

"Thank you to all who shared the appeal for information . "
