Heat is on as thousands of Scots hit the beach

THOUSANDS of sun worshippers flocked to Portobello beach to bask in temperatures of 20C and higher yesterday, as summer finally arrived in the Capital.

The mercury is forecast to reach 21C today, with light showers around late afternoon.

Light rain will return tomorrow, with heavy rain and thundery showers expected from Wednesday, and humidity reaching highs of 88 per cent towards the end of the week.
