Construction guru hired for new Sick Kids
ANOTHER milestone has been passed in building the new Sick Kids hospital, say health chiefs.
NHS Lothian has brought in construction expert Brian Currie to keep the project on track and work with all parties involved.
The new 150 million hospital at Little France is expected to be up and running by 2012 and will feature state-of-the-art facilities and a family hotel.
A 15 million fundraising drive by the New Pyjamas campaign will provide key funds for the hospital and is well underway.
Jackie Sansbury, director of strategic planning and modernisation for NHS Lothian, said: "We have already passed several major milestones on route to the new home for the Sick Kids and are looking forward to the day when this new hospital can be opened."
