Conjuring trio show they're really magic

THREE city magicians have won a Scotland-wide competition and collected £1500.

Gary James, Colin Swan and Ricky McLeod scooped first place as the Edinburgh team in the Loch Ness Magic Challenge at Fort Augustus last Saturday.

Mr James, 38, from Drylaw, who has been a full-time magician for nine years, said: "It was voted for by the audience so we are very pleased."

The event saw Mr James perform the well-known cup-in-ball trick as well as one which saw him change a sterling banknote into a million dollar bill.

Mr McLeod, known as Tricky Ricky, did his egg-bag routine, which sees an egg appear and then vanish, while Colin Swan's act was based around mime.
