Concern over rail changes
TRANSPORT chiefs have expressed concern about proposed changes to the CrossCountry rail network from Edinburgh.
The South East of Scotland Transport Partnership (SESTRAN) said it had reservations about plans to scrap direct services from the Capital to Bournemouth, which would force passengers heading to Coventry, Oxford or Southampton to change trains at Birmingham.
The transport body also said the CrossCountry franchise is "crucial" for commuters heading from Fife or East Lothian to the Capital.
