Companies win swift honours

A FAMILY-RUN garage, a specialist fish and chip shop, a carbon neutral taxi company and a delicatessen are among Edinburgh firms to be honoured for their levels of customer service.

The Swift Awards recognise "unsung" businesses that deliver the quickest, most reliable and best value service.

The four businesses from Edinburgh are Edina Cars, the Albion Road firm that is the city's only carbon neutral taxi service; The Tailend Restaurant and Fish Bar, on Albert Place; Clan Garage, on Roseburn Street; and The Store Deli, on Comely Bank Road.

Tina Shortle, marketing director of online insurance company swiftcover.com, which sponsors the awards, said: "Organisations like a taxi-company or a fish and chip shop rarely win awards, despite being vital businesses within the community."
