Cloud computing firm opens its new Scottish head office

CLOUD Computing firm EMC has opened its new Scottish head office at the Almondvale Business Park in Livingston.

Minister for Youth Employment and Almond Valley MSP Angela Constance was on hand to cut the ribbon.

EMC opened its first Scottish office in Livingston in 1999 with a small team of five and today employs more than 60 people across the country.

Ms Constance said: “As the local MSP, I am delighted to welcome EMC’s further expansion in Scotland. The Scottish Government recognises that technology sector is playing an important role in stimulating Scotland’s economic growth and EMC is making a valuable contribution to this.”

Martin Brown, country manager for EMC in Scotland, said: “This new facility enables us to support the company’s growth in cloud computing.”
