Climate change protesters eye sites in Lothian
CLIMATE change protesters plan to target a number of Lothian locations as part of a week-long campaign of disruption.
Meeting under the banner of Climate Change Scotland, members of the group have outlined several potential sites where they will attempt to cause maximum disruption to attempt to raise awareness and force action on carbon emissions.
Both Edinburgh Airport and Cockenzie power station are reportedly on the protesters' hit list.
The Royal Bank of Scotland is also a target, on the basis that it financially supports energy companies.
It is understood coal-fired stations like Cockenzie are on the highest alert, with staff being warned not to engage in any discourse with protesters.
A spokesman for the protest group, which based itself yesterday at the site of a planned open cast mine in Lanarkshire, said: "We will be taking our protests outside the Climate Camp before the end of the week.
"There are a number of possible targets in the Central Belt."
