OAP vanishes on trip to shops

FEARS were growing last night for a woman aged 68 who went missing while shopping.

Sylvia Muir, from Symington, Lanarkshire, went off on her own while her husband packed their car at the Co-op in Biggar at about 11:30am on Saturday.

Police said she had never gone missing before and that she was unable to walk for lengthy periods.

She is 5ft 6in tall, with short, brown hair and glasses. She was wearing a beige jacket, coloured scarf and hat.

A police spokeswoman said: "It is extremely out of character for Sylvia to go missing and her family are becoming increasingly anxious."
