Clamper is clamped in civic clampdown
TRAFFIC wardens clamped a van belonging to a private wheel-clamper after spotting it had no road tax, it emerged yesterday.
Southend council staff said they towed and impounded the van after spotting it on a street in the Essex's town on Friday. A spokesman said the van, owned by a local clamping firm, was later reclaimed after a fee was paid.
