City musicians to play at top Dubai hotel
TWO Edinburgh musicians have been offered contracts at a prestigious seven-star hotel in Dubai.
Jazz singer Louise Dodds and pianist Tom Scott will perform at the world famous Burj Al Arab hotel – said to be the world's best hotel – from next month.
Born and raised in Edinburgh, Dodds has been a regular on the Scottish jazz scene for the last six years and is releasing a new album later this year.
Dodds has also appeared at many venues and events throughout the country, including the Glasgow Jazz Festival and multiple appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her album of jazz standards was featured on BBC Radio Scotland and was also Album of the Day on Leith FM.
Edinburgh-based pianist Tom Scott is originally from Peterborough but came to the Capital to study music at Edinburgh University and has stayed to work in the city since graduating in 2003.
The duo will be performing jazz in the hotel's Sky Bar until summer, when they return to Edinburgh in time for the festivals.
