City advertises for 'champion' to put project back on course
CITY leaders have advertised for a dedicated "champion" to help Leith and the West End recover from the disruption caused by the city's tram project.
The temporary role would see one person coordinating efforts to encourage trade back to both areas, as well as ensuring the remaining tram work is completed as efficiently as possible.
The new champion role will last until the tram work is finished in 2011 and will also involve trying to bring together the different community and business groups in the area.
The job advert states: "We are seeking a motivated and creative individual with proven experience in partnership working to help us to create a sustainable and prosperous retail and business environment taking full advantage of the investment in the Edinburgh Tram network."
The job has a salary of 30,000 and is for two years. It is hoped an appointment will be confirmed next month.
