Hibs striker Dominqiue Malonga wanted by Brescia

ITALIAN Serie B side Brescia want to sign Hibs striker Dominique Malonga.

It is believed the Lombardy club were keen during the summer to sign the 26-year-old, who netted 16 goals in 33 appearances after arriving at Easter Road last September. Malonga has had previous spells in Italy with Cesena, Foggia, Torino and Vicenza.

The striker has been in excellent form in recent weeks after netting Hibs’ second in a 2-0 League Cup victory over Aberdeen. However, there are a number of forwards vying for a place in manager Alan Stubbs’ plans, so Hibs may consider a move if an agreeable fee is involved. (Tutto Mercato)

Rangers could pay Charles Green’s legal costs

DAVE King and the majority shareholders at Rangers have agreed on a plan to pay for Charles Green’s legal costs - should they be ordered to do so by the court.

The former chief executive is facing charges of fraud from his time at the Glasgow giants. He will stand accused with five others, including ex-owner Craig Whyte.

Green’s legal team will argue the club are liable for the costs, thought to be around £1.5million, at a two day hearing beginning on November 12. (Daily Mail)

Rangers must sign up Kenny Miller - Kris Boyd

KRIS Boyd called for his former club to act quickly and sign his former strike-partner Kenny Miller to a new contract.

The 35-year-old has not scored since August 16 as he adapts to a new role on the right of Rangers’ midfield, though that’s not dissuaded manager Mark Warburton from starting him most weeks.

The club are on course for a return to the Premiership and Boyd believes they could do a lot worse than to keep faith with the veteran. (The Scottish Sun)

Deila must win double and make Europa progress - Bonner

PAT Bonner believes Ronny Deila must win a League and Cup double and qualify for the knock- out phase of the Europa League if he is to be trusted to lead the Parkhead side next season.

Legendary Celtic goalkeeper Bonner feels the failure to qualify for the Champions League in each of the last two seasons coupled with lamentable displays against mediocre opposition this season in the shape of Malmö and, most recently, Molde has cast serious aspersions on Deila’s ability to continue as manager.

Bonner said: “If he can’t get out of this Europa League group and doesn’t win another double then it’s going to be very difficult for him.” (The Scotsman)

Hearts condemn behaviour of bus attack yobs

HEARTS have released a statement condemning the behaviour of a group of supporters who are alleged to have attacked a Ross County supporters’ coach prior to Saturday’s match.

The fans, known as the “Young Team”, who are said to regularly sit behind the goals in the Roseburn stand, were accused of an attack the coach, stealing a drum from a County fan and even stealing a steward’s cap.

It is understood no complaints were made to the police. However, Hearts have been quick to condemn the youths’ behaviour.

A club statement read: “It is with considerable disappointment that the club, once again, is put in the position of having to apologise both to our own supporters and, in this case, to Ross County Football Club and their travelling support for the appalling behaviour of a small group of 15-25 young so-called “Hearts supporters”.” (The Scotsman)

Scott Allan makes starring return for Celtic reserves

SCOTT Allan put in a star performance on his return from injury in Celtic’s Development League meeting with Hearts.

The 23-year-old arrived with much fanfare this summer following a move from Hibs, but he’s been limited to only two games for the Hoops so far, both substitute appearances, thanks to injury.

He’ll have a battle to get back into Ronny Deila’s starting XI plans with a number of players capable of playing in the centre of the park, and he looked determined in the 2-0 win over the Jambos to prove himself. (Video Celts)

Celtic’s Jozo Simunovic: I’m used to pressure

JOZO Simunovic believes he is ready-made to handle the pressure facing the Celtic players this week as they go into a critical and potentially defining phase of their season.

Celtic face three pivotal games in three different competitions with tomorrow night’s League Cup quarter-final at Hearts followed by Saturday’s home league fixture against nearest challengers Aberdeen and then the must-win Europa League return meeting with Molde at Parkhead five days later.

Simunovic, back in the side after missing seven games with an ankle injury following his debut away to Ajax in mid-September, is eager to have an extended run in Ronny Deila’s side.

Kris Boyd doesn’t mind making way for Josh Magennis

THE remarkable rise in the stock of Josh Magennis has been one of the great stories of the season as he has become the talisman of Kilmarnock’s recovery and played a key role for Northern Ireland in their historic qualification for Euro 2016.

It was been a remarkable phase for Magennis, who has scored five goals in Kilmarnock’s last six matches and was also on the scoresheet on that joyous night in Belfast when Michael O’Neill’s side defeated Greece 3-1 to book their place in France next summer.

Traditionally, Kris Boyd has never been best pleased about sitting on the substitute’s bench but he has no qualms about playing second fiddle right now. Indeed, he is gushing in his admiration of his Kilmarnock team-mate.
