City Apprentice hopeful survives axe

EDINBURGH contestant Lucinda Ledgerwood has survived the latest cull on The Apprentice TV show.

The Leith Links resident, who once turned down the chance to be the body double of a Bond girl, was saved by Sir Alan Sugar at the expense of mosaic artist Shazia Wahab.

The 31-year-old had been brought back to the boardroom with Ms Wahab by their team leader Jenny Celerier, after the girls' team lost a laundry task on last night's episode.

However, Ms Wahab, 35, from south London, whose family hold a Guinness World Record for the number of degrees they have between them, was stunned to be the one kicked off the show she watched with her father before he died.

She said: "I'm shocked that I was fired. I actually don't know (why). When I walked out I was in complete shock. I said I'd been stitched up.

"I don't know what went through his (Sir Alan's) mind. I don't think he was given the facts to make a decision.

"Sir Alan also said that he'd been in the business a long time, for many, many years, and that he knew the good from the bad. But what was his impression of Jenny? I don't know why he fired me."
