Church leader in parliament
AN international church leader is to visit the Scottish Parliament next week to meet MSPs about the Middle East.
The Rev Dr Samuel Kobia, general secretary of the World Council of Churches, will join members of the parliament’s cross-party group on Palestine to launch a Week for Peace in Palestine, from June 4 to 10.
Scottish church leaders and the group Scottish Jews for a Just Peace will also attend the event on Tuesday. This year marks 60 years of turmoil in the Israeli-Palistinian conflict resulting in 750,000 refugees.
