Children to sing carols in Leith Festival
HUNDREDS of children are to take part in carol singing throughout the festive season in Leith.
Pupils from across the port are to take turns in performing at the Christmas tree at the Foot of Leith Walk, outside Woolworths. The lights were officially switched yesterday accompanied by music from pupils at Leith Primary.
Leith Festival – held every summer in the area – has funded and organised the festive display for the second year running.
Chairman Gordon Munro said: "Leith Festival is not just for June, it is also for Christmas. It is set to be even better than last year."
St Mary's Primary will sing next Thursday from 1.30pm. On Monday December 15, pupils from Victoria Primary will perform from 1.30pm and the following day, Fort Primary children will sing at 1.45pm, followed by Hermitage Park pupils on Wednesday December 17 at 11am and Lorne Primary at 2pm.
