Charity seeks 'fast women' to make wheels of fortune turn
THE Multiple Sclerosis Society Scotland is seeking "fast women" to take to their wheels in the name of charity for the Ladies Driving Challenge 2009.
The event, at the Royal Highland Showground, Ingliston, on Sunday, 13 September, will let drivers loose on a "daredevil" course in a choice of exciting vehicles, including a fire engine, a monster articulated lorry, a double-decker bus, an excavator and a seven-person conference bike.
Spokeswoman Katy Williamson said: "This promises to be a memorable day. I've been driving for nine years and have no doubt that women are better drivers. When it comes to sponsorship for this event, however, men are just as welcome as women.
"The Society relies on the generosity of individuals to continue our vital work in enabling everyone affected by MS to live life to the full, so please help us on the road to beating MS."
Participants need an up-to-date UK driving licence and must raise minimum sponsorship of 95.
For details or to register your interest, contact Katy Williamson on 0131 335 4050 or fundraising@mssocietyscotland.org.uk.
