Charities put £290,000 worth of grants to waste
TWO charities have been granted a total of £290,514 so they can help communities deal with their waste effectively.
Requipit, based in Jane Street, Leith, received 135,419 to help its work refurbishing domestic appliances for reuse.
The other beneficiary is Newhaven-based environmental charity Changeworks, which will recruit a community engagement officer.
The money comes from the Scottish Government's Increase III fund, set up to encourage the reduction and recycling of waste.
