Charge over Dundee woman's death
A 40-YEAR-OLD man was yesterday arrested and charged in connection with the alleged murder of a mother-of-three whose body was found dumped in undergrowth in Dundee city centre.
The two-week search for Mary McLaren, 34, ended last Wednesday when her body was discovered in the undergrowth on an embankment flanking the city's Ladywell roundabout. She had disappeared on 25 February after visiting Fat Sam's nightclub in the city during a night out with her younger sister, Michelle Rodger.
Ms McLaren, of Rowantree Crescent, Dundee, had last been seen in Marketgait with a man she met at the club.
Tayside Police announced on Friday, following a post-mortem examination, that her death was being treated as murder.
