Centre burns midnight oil for shoppers
FORT Kinnaird, Scotland's largest shopping park, has announced that it will be opening its doors until midnight in the run-up to Christmas Eve.
Starting on Monday, December 15, the park's big brand name stores will be trading until 12am up until December 23.
Midnight trading in Edinburgh and the Lothians was first pioneered by the park last year, with 1.8m visitors throughout December, up six per cent on the previous year.
Bosses at Fort Kinnaird estimate another 1.8m visitors will visit the park this month, with 60,000 on the first night of midnight trading.
Liam Smith, centre manager, said: "We were the first in the east of Scotland to pioneer midnight opening and it's been very successful."
