Vomiting bug stops Strictly Come Dancing star Robin in his tracks

Lisa Riley’s professional partner on Strictly Come Dancing has been struck down with a vomiting bug, preventing him from rehearsing.

Robin Windsor is thought to have come down with norovirus ahead of this weekend’s live BBC1 show being staged at Wembley Arena.

He had been due to appear on BBC2’s Strictly spin-off programme It Takes Two but had to pull out because of his health woes.

He informed fans with a message on Twitter, which said: “Locked in the house with a nasty tummy bug.”

It is the latest health problem to hit the show after a number of injuries which have affected the professionals on the programme this series.

Aliona Vilani damaged her ankle early in the run and was forced to sit out for a month.

Last week it was touch and go whether James Jordan would be fit in time for the show after suffering tendon injuries which prevented him from training. Jordan had previously broken his nose when his wife Ola accidentally kicked him in the face during rehearsals.

Actress Riley has already expressed her excitement about Saturday’s show in front of a huge audience.

She said earlier this week: “New week, new dance, still actually cannot believe I am going to be performing at Wembley. Robin is going to have to quash my nerves.”

The couple are meant to be performing the samba this weekend.
