Simon Cowell has ‘history’s second most-memorable face’
Music svengali Cowell neck and neck with German dictator.
Simon Cowell and Adolf Hitler might not seem to have much in common but the unlikely duo has topped a poll to find the most recognisable faces in history.
A survey of 1,000 adults found 943 of them could identify the X Factor supremo, one fewer than the 944 who named Hitler from his picture.
The poll, which was commissioned by the television channel Yesterday to mark the launch of its series Museum Secrets, was less kind to pop star Lady Gaga, who was recognised by 705 people.
That put the eccentric – and much photographed – singer below figures including much-married Tudor monarch Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and former prime minister Margaret Thatcher in the poll carried out by market research firm.onepoll.com.
