ROLLING STONES guitarist Ronnie Wood is set to marry girlfriend Sally Humphreys, after he popped the question to her last week.
A spokesman for Wood confirmed the engagement, with the 65-year-old - 31 years Humphreys’ senior, who is 34 - set to marry for a third time, following the couple’s whirlwind romance of only six months.
Wood hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in July 2008, after he left his then wife Jo for 21-year-old Kazakhstan-born cocktail waitress Ekaterina ‘Katya’ Ivanova, with the couple’s brief romance memorably ending with Ivanova referring to Wood as an ‘evil goblin king’.
The former Faces guitarist was married to Krissy Findlay between 1971 and 1978, before taking up with Jo in 1985 until their split in 2008/09.
Wood’s stepson Jamie commented: “Sally’s not one of the bimbos he usually goes for. She’s exactly what he needs. I don’t think he can keep up with bimbos any more.”
The wrinkly rocker’s fellow Stones guitarist Keith Richards reportedly bemoaned the engagement, complaining about having to buy a third wedding gift.
