A PRIVATE funeral was held yesterday for the Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Mourners, including Cate Blanchett, Ethan Hawke, Louis CK, Ellen Burstyn and Spike Lee, were among 400 people at the ceremony in the Church of St Ignatius Loyola in Manhattan.
Hoffman, 46, was found dead on Sunday after apparently overdosing on heroin. He leaves behind his partner of 15 years, Mimi O’Donnell, and three children.
A memorial service is planned for later this month. More tests will determine what killed the actor, who was found with a syringe in his arm.
