Pete Doherty reveals secret relationship with Amy Winehouse

SINGER Pete Doherty has revealed that he and Amy Winehouse were lovers.

The Babyshambles frontman has spoken openly about their affair to The Daily Mail, admitting that they began their relationship in August 2010 after one of Doherty’s London gigs.

He said, “This is difficult for me to admit. I loved her then and I still do today.”

He added, “Towards the end, as only lovers can, she became quite mean and cruel to me. She didn’t suffer fools. And believe me, she had a mean right hook.”

Doherty also revealed that he had concerns about her health in the months prior to her death in July 2011.

He said, “She had a big heart but was physically small and increasingly frail. I never once saw her eat anything solid, just milkshakes.”

The singer announced that he has written a song about Winehouse entitled Flags From The Old Regime.

“I’ve never done a song like it. It’s very slow”.
