Kelly Macdonald gives birth to son

TRAINSPOTTING actress and voice of Princess Merida in Disney’s Brave Kelly Macdonald, has given birth to a son with husband Dougie Payne, bassist with Scottish rock band Travis.

Theodore was born on December 8 last year, but the couple kept news of the birth quiet, exceeding Scotland’s 21-day legal limit for registering the baby’s birth in the process.

The decision may have been an attempt to maintain a level of privacy surrounding the birth and the Scottish couple - British singer Adele also failed to register her baby within the English time limit, in what appears to have been an attempt to keep her son’s name private.

The pair already have a four-year-old son Freddie.
