The 31-year-old is alleged to have contacted a woman, 32, after she contacted him over Facebook claiming that her eldest son was a fan of the comedian.

The messages, which are said to have taken place over a period of 15 months from November 2011, include a topless photo of the woman in a bath, according to The Sun.

It is also claimed that the pair exchanged phone numbers, although they never met up or phoned each other.

The comedian was forced to quit The One Show in 2010 after revelations that he had been sending explicit messages to another female fan on Twitter.

Manford was forced to apologise publicly after The Sun reported the Mancunian’s indiscretion, saying at the time: “I have never felt so low. The fundamental thing is, I was a d*******. My wife has called me a d*******.”

He continued: “I am a good dad, a good husband. From now I am going to be one for ever. That’s it.”

Manford is set to embark on a UK-wide tour, First World Problems, which begins in May. He has already performed two nationwide tours, and is set to earn £1 million from First World Problems, which ends in January 2014.
