Hairspray set for Playhouse

THE award-winning musical Hairspray is to return to the Capital next year after a succesful run in 2010.

Waterloo Road Star Mark Benton will star as matriarch Edna Turnblad when the multi-million production returns to the Playhouse.

He said: “I can’t wait to start Hairspray, it’s going to be amazing fun and an interesting challenge for me as it’s my first adventure into the world of musicals.”

Hairspray will be staged at the Playhouse from September 3-14 next year.
