Eddie Murphy does not wannabe father but Mel B 'has DNA proof'

EDDIE Murphy is the father of ex-Spice Girl Mel B's baby, according to fresh allegations made yesterday.

Friends of the singer said that a DNA test had proven her long-standing claim that the 46-year-old Hollywood star had fathered her baby Angel, born in April.

Murphy, who is already father to six children by two different women, denied being the father when the pair split in December after a seven-month relationship.

When Murphy originally refused to take a DNA test, Mel B, better known as Scary Spice, said: "This baby was planned and he knows it's his. This is what's mind-boggling.

"It takes two to make a baby. Be responsible."

Murphy has previously stated that he would support the child if he was proved to be the father, and it is now rumoured that the cost of her upbringing could cost him 10m.

Mel B, originally from Leeds, also has an eight-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, who was fathered by her former husband Jimmy Gulzar. She began dating Murphy after the pair met at a friend's house last June.

Angel Iris Murphy Brown will now have a share of the actor's 65m fortune.

The claims come as speculation mounts of a Spice Girls reunion.

The former band members have scheduled a news conference for Thursday, at which many believe they will announce plans to perform again. A multi-million pound reunion tour is expected to begin in December, running for 25 dates, and earning the girls up to 10m each.

The band, formed in 1994, sold more than 30 million albums and topped charts around the world before their split in 2000. Now aged between 31 and 34, Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Posh have six children between them, with Baby Spice Emma Bunton due to give birth to her first child this summer.

Sources say the tour - which would begin in London and continue through Europe, the Middle East, America and the Far East - will be accompanied by a Greatest Hits album.

There are also claims that the band may release a Christmas single.

Mel C, thought to be the last remaining obstacle to the reunion, said recently: "For the first time ever, there is some truth in the rumours... there is just so much good feeling out there."

The recent success of British boyband Take That, who staged a comeback a decade after their split, may have influenced the girls, who could be set to make millions from tour tickets, merchandise, updated autobiographies and CD sales.
