A DUTCH tourist appeared in court yesterday charged with stalking singer Amy MacDonald.

Pieter Weijden, who made no plea declaration in the twenty-minute hearing, was also charged with breaching the peace.

Weijden, 33, is thought to have been on vacation in Scotland. Police have yet to disclose where the arrest took place.

A spokesperson for police said: “We can confirm a 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged breach of the peace following police inquiries.”

MacDonald, whose latest album Life In A Beautiful Light has sold over 100,000 units, has previously confessed to having had to deal with stalkers since becoming famous.

“Fans are nuts in Europe and there are a lot of die-hard fans who would do anything for me.

“I have a few scary stalker stories but try and forget them.”
