The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed their love of baking yesterday when they met doyenne of the kitchen Mary Berry.

Ms Berry’s cookery programmes leave much of the nation drooling at the cakes and puddings she helps create, and she now has two sweet-toothed royal fans in William and Kate. The Duke joked with the TV cook how his wife loves her books and his stomach loves her recipes, when they met during a visit to a bereavement charity in Buckinghamshire.

The Duke is royal patron of Child Bereavement UK and he toured the organisation’s headquarters.
