Actress Catherine Tyldesley launched Scotland’s biggest open water swimming event at Loch Lomond yesterday.
The Coronation Street star, who plays Eva Price, is making a splash as the official 2014 ambassador for the Great Swim series, which includes the Great Scottish Swim on 23 August.
Around 2,000 people are expected to take to the water for this year’s event, with participants choosing from a half-mile, a mile or a two-mile event, all open to swimmers of all abilities.
Catherine said: “I am hugely excited to be part of the Great Swim Series and getting to visit such beautiful locations such as Loch Lomond is fantastic.”
The Great Swim series attracts over 20,000 participants in locations throughout the UK, including Lake Windermere in Cumbria, north west England and Loch Lomond in the west of Scotland.
