ANGELINA Jolie would ‘love a part’ in a movie adaptation of bestselling novel Fifty Shades Of Grey, according to reports.
The 37-year-old Oscar-winning actress’ interest in a role was reportedly sparked after a copy of E L James’ book was handed to her on the set of her latest film, Maleficent.
“Angelina kept hearing about the book while she was in the UK. It’s a big craze here in America, too, at the moment, but she was swept up in it while over here,” said a source.
“Angeline went out and bought herself a copy, thinking she’d love a part in the hot topic on everyone’s lips at the moment.
“She knows it’s bound to be a huge hit.”
Observers have poured scorn over rumours that Jolie would be considered for the role of virginal protagonist Anastasia Steele, saying that Jolie would be too old.
Other actresses rumoured to be considered for the role of Steele, who engages in a love affair with older businessman Christian Grey, include Lilly Collins, Emma Watson, Rachel McAdams, Alexis Beldel, Amanda Seyfried and Kristen Stewart.
Jolie has also been rumoured to have been touted as a director for the movie, although her representatives denied that talks had taken place.
