Tennis star Andy Murray has spoken of his love for Scotland ahead of the opening of his new hotel.
He said he was looking forward to the venue being a “fixture” in Scottish tourism at the start of a week of events celebrating the industry.
Murray will launch the five-star Cromlix House Hotel, close to his home town of Dunblane, Stirlingshire, next month.
A message from the British No.1, who was last night knocked out of the BNP Paribas Open in California, was relayed to delegates at a Scottish Tourism Alliance conference to mark this year’s Scottish Tourism Week.
Murray said: “2014 will be a big year – not only will I defend my Wimbledon title, I have joined your industry and now champion your message, that tourism is everyone’s business –even tennis players!
“I love Scotland, and this venture gives me the chance to show off Scotland to the world.”
