Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has swapped Centre Court for beach tennis on a well-earned break with girlfriend Kim Sears.
The Scot tweeted that the holiday in the Bahamas was a chance for him to enjoy a period of relaxation.
Arriving on Sunday night, he wrote: “Just got off flight … Nice 5 day break coming up before training starts again next Saturday… Going to eat a lot and do very little else.”
The 26-year-old has had little opportunity to kick back since his nail-biting, historic victory over Novak Djokovic, making him the first British male in 77 years to take the Wimbledon title.
The win, which catapulted him to international fame, was a crowning moment on what had already been a phenomenal 12 months for him, having already won the US Open and Olympic gold in 2012.
However, Murray will be back on court within the month, when he takes part in the Rogers Cup in Montreal, Canada. He will also be defending his US Open title in New York next month.
The Bahamas is a popular destination for the Scot, who has used it as a retreat after Major tournaments.
Three years ago, after Murray was beaten by Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon semi-final, he holidayed on the exclusive Atlantis Paradise Island, whose former guests include Rihanna, Cindy Crawford and Katy Perry.
