Castle tells all the stories of Christmas past
A CAST of historical characters will take visitors to Edinburgh Castle on a tour of Christmases past to show how it has changed through the centuries.
The Story of Christmas will examine Scotland's festive traditions from early pagan times through to the Middle Ages and the days of Robert Burns.
Historic Scotland events manager Nick Finnigan said:
"We've some great entertainment lined up and lots of fun in store, but the events will also be educational as they'll help young and old find out how the celebration of Christmas developed through history, and how some of our favourite festive traditions came about."
The Story of Christmas takes place at Edinburgh Castle on Sunday, 13 December from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.
Admission tickets can be bought in advance by visiting www.edinburghcastle.gov.uk or www.stirlingcastle.gov.uk
