Cast vote for Labour leader
LABOUR voters in Edinburgh East have until midnight tonight to help decide how MP Sheila Gilmore will cast her vote in the party's leadership election.
Ms Gilmore announced last month she was holding a "primary" among Labour supporters in the constituency on who should succeed Gordon Brown and pledged to vote accordingly.
She sent out 1000 ballot papers to identified Labour voters, but any Labour supporter in Edinburgh East - which runs from Tollcross to Abbeyhill and as far east as Joppa - can vote at www.edinburgheast.net.
Ms Gilmore said: "The Labour Party, and the whole country, needs a strong leader who carries the support and faith of all Labour-minded people. That is why I decided to open up the process to voters."
