Cash fattens up diet team

FUNDING has been made available to the health board to recruit four additional students to work on dietary issues.

NHS Lothian chief executive James Barbour said: "The significance of this work is two-fold.

"First in the context of increasing levels of obesity, sufficient numbers of well trained dieticians will be an essential part of our response and second, during the global downturn we have been able to ensure that a number of students have been able to avoid deferring further studies."
