Care worker flashed at girl on webcam

A CARE worker who performed a sex act while talking on a webcam to a young girl has been placed on the sex offenders' register.

Norman Moyes, 35, began chatting up a 14-year-old girl on an internet instant messaging service. When the chat turned sexual Moyes used the digital video camera to show the girl the sex act.

But the teenager photographed him on her mobile telephone and told her mum and police later arrested Moyes. Yesterday at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, he admitted a sexual breach of the peace.

Moyes, who has since been suspended from his work, admitted to police that he had exposed himself but said it was by accident.

He will have to sign on the sex offenders' register.

Speaking after the case the girl's mum said Moyes should be behind bars.

She said: "He should be locked up, he was a trusted member of the community and abused that trust."

Sheriff Graeme Warner called for background reports and Moyes, of Barn Park Crescent, Edinburgh, will be sentenced next month.
