Care project to double in size
A COMPASSIONATE care project is doubling in size following its success over the past two years.
Edinburgh Napier University and NHS Lothian's Leadership in Compassionate Care (LCC) project is expanding to four new development sites in Edinburgh.
The LCC team will work with the new sites to learn more about how compassionate care is delivered within their wards to ensure patients receive compassionate, person-centred care in hospital.
As part of the project, set up in 2007, four wards were established as beacons of good practice in compassionate care.
LCC's lead, Stephen Smith, said: "The LCC team now aims to roll out what we've learnt in the four beacon wards and develop these skills in the new development sites."
