Car saves man in 39-storey fall
A NEW York City man who plunged 39 stories from the roof of an apartment building has survived after crashing on to a parked car.
Witnesses and police said 22-year-old Thomas Magill tried to take his own life by jumping from the high-rise at West 63rd Street on Tuesday.
He landed in the back seat of the Dodge Charger after crashing through the vehicle's windscreen.
Mr Magill suffered broken legs and police said that he remained in a critical condition in hospital last night.
