Capital prepares for royal wedding

Deliveries have been arriving under heavy police presence at Edinburgh's Palace of Holyroodhouse ahead of this weekend's royal wedding.

Thousands of people are expected to flock to the city for Saturday's wedding at Canongate Kirk of the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips and England rugby internationalist Mike Tindall. The reception will take place in the palace. Police have warned access to the Canongate will be limited.

Roads in the area will be closed off early on Saturday to allow council workers time to prepare for the event.

Although the wedding will be attended by the likes of the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the ceremony has been classed as a private event as Ms Phillips does not hold a royal title.
