Cannabis driver jailed for 3 years
AN UNEMPLOYED grandfather who became a cannabis "delivery man" for £100 was jailed for three years yesterday.
Mark Shum, 63, of Auchinyell Road, Aberdeen, accepted an offer to collect a man in Edinburgh and drive him to Aberdeen, but he was stopped and police found a suitcase of herbal cannabis with a black market value of up to 150,000.
A jury convicted him of being concerned in the supply of cannabis on 14 August last year. Sentencing him at the High Court in Edinburgh, Lord Malcolm said Shum had only two minor motoring offences and his role in the offence had been described as that of a delivery man.
