Cancer leaflet published to aid patients
A BOOKLET has been published for GPs and patients in a bid to improve men's experience of prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The Prostate Cancer Charity launched the guide because it believes not enough is being done to ease the pain and discomfort of the subsequent checks and procedures for the disease.
Claire Sewell, the organisation's information officer, said men across the Lothians would benefit from the information provided.
She added: "We hope this booklet will act as a point of reference for GPs so they can easily explain the pros and cons of the PSA (blood] test to help their patients make a more informed decision about whether or not to undergo testing for the disease."
