Cancer funding concern raised

FUNDING for research into prostate cancer is not proportionate to other types of cancer, a city conference will hear.

The event, organised by Prostate Cancer Support Scotland, will bring together hundreds of sufferers, academics and politicians when it takes place on Thursday at Edinburgh University's Playfair Library.

Around 2500 new diagnoses occur every year, but speakers will tell the summit that prostate cancer still does not receive enough funding or awareness-raising tools to adequately address what is, a highly treatable disease.
