Cancer blitz brewing
A CANCER survivor from the city is urging locals to get involved in the upcoming world's biggest coffee morning.
Alison Walker, 44, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and is keen to pay back the help she got from Macmillan cancer nurses during her plight.
Now the pensions adviser is launching a campaign to encourage people to either host or attend events across the city on 25 September.
Last year 347 different coffee mornings were held across the city , and Ms Walker wants to help build on that figure this year.
She said: "Having had cancer myself I know how important Macmillan's work is to so many people out there." For details phone 0845 602 1246.
