Campaigner 'losing sleep' over legal case
A RETIRED Scottish doctor questioned by police in an "assisted suicide" investigation yesterday said she was losing sleep over the time the case is taking to conclude.
Dr Libby Wilson, who lives in Glasgow, was arrested and questioned by police in Surrey in September after the death of MS sufferer Cari Loder, who took her own life. Since then, she has had bail hearings postponed three times – the last time last week – and says she has not been kept properly informed about when she is expected to travel the 400 miles to Surrey.
She said she had only found out at very short notice that she did not need to travel.
Ms Loder killed herself at her home in Surrey in June by inhaling a lethal dose of a gas she ordered over the internet.
After she was questioned by police Dr Wilson, a right-to-die campaigner who runs the organisation Friends at the End, said she had nothing to do with Ms Loder's death, but had spoken to her twice on the phone.
After being bailed by police last September, Dr Wilson said she had had problems finding out what was happening.
